Akin is a prominent figure in Nigerian basketball. He is the founder of Detail the Academy which has brought tremendous influence on the development of young talent within Nigeria and channeling their routes to schools in the USA.

Akin is also recognized for his career as a 12yr professional with Fiba teams winning 2 club championships and a cup championship as well as representing the Nigerian National team.
